Make learning more authentic by inviting an expert in your subject or topic area to take part in a lesson.  Many authors and experts are often more than willing to take part in a lesson virtually using video conferencing and this can add a great deal to your unit or lesson.

All you need is a webcam (£10 max and most laptops/mobile devices have these inbuilt), a microphone (cheap to buy and again usually available on any laptop/mobile device) and some video conferencing software.  Oh, and of course an expert!  In fact you don't even need the webcam, you can chat without seeing a person.

If you are not sure on how to set up video conferencing why not try Adobe Connect or Skype.  You will find the information you need to set up and use each on their relative websites.  As always, a quick search on you tube will also give you lot more advice, ideas and information.
