You will most likely have come across Google Earth at some point.  As an educational tool this can be extremely useful.  The most obvious use is in subjects like Geography and History where you can explore different parts of the world but what about subjects like Art or Music where you could explore a part of the world to draw inspiration from it for a piece of artwork or music?  If you have any international links with other schools then this could be a really interesting way to find out about where they come from virtually.

One really neat tool which people often don't know about is the 'history' tool.  You can view a historical timeline of many cities and see what the satelite imagery looks like from years gone by.

Don't understimate Google Maps either.  If you do not have Google Earth installed you can always use Google Maps for many similar activities.
